Overview
This stage is characterized by low altitudes and a typical Mediterranean landscape — a footpath wedged in between old mountains, accompanied by a meandering, blue river. Unlike alpine heights, the trek here unfolds across gentle terrain that follows the flow of the Pavlla River and penetrates the Bogaz Gorge. Along the way, encounters with sheepfolds and orchards filled with oranges and lemons create an idyllic atmosphere, typical of Albania's southernmost region. Another slow-paced day where nature is woven with the local life.
Trail profile

Trail description
The journey begins in the village of Shkallë, where the path winds through ancient olive groves and gardens of lemon and orange trees. Gradually you ascend the mountain side, following a high watering channel with the blue Pavlla river flowing below, grazing the many fields it feeds.
Leaving the water channel behind, you descend to Luftar's Hut (Stani i Luftarit), holding the most panoramic spot right above the small Bogazi Gorge — drop by to say hello and recharge on some Turkish coffee. The trail then immediately leads toward the Bogaz Gorge, an impressive segment where rocky walls narrow over the Pavlla River.
Emerging from the narrowest part of the canyon, the path continues along a paved road for a short while, quickly entering the narrow paths that connect the fields, offering an easy and smooth walk that gradually leads towards the village ahead. On the final ascent, you will pass a curious site — three big mushroom-shaped bunkers, used smartly by a shepherd as his hut. You gradually walk towards Livadhja.
